Stuffed Bell Peppers with Tomato Sauce

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned.
  4. Add rice, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning to the beef. Mix well.
  5. Stuff the peppers with the beef mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and pour tomato sauce over them.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, add shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Feel free to use turkey or chicken instead of beef.
  • Double the recipe for larger gatherings.
