Strawberry Chocolate Cake

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water until the batter is fully combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  8. Once cooled, layer the cakes with sliced strawberries and your favorite chocolate frosting.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate in the frosting.
  • You can substitute the strawberries with raspberries for a different twist.
