  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 1/2 cup sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the caramel bits.
  6. Drop by tablespoonful onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle sea salt flakes on top while still warm.
  9. Let cool on wire racks.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chocolate chips to the dough.
  • Allow the cookies to cool completely for better texture.
