Raspberry Angel Food Cake: A Light and Fruity Dessert Delight

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour, 1 cup of sugar, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add the remaining sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the flour mixture and vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Carefully fold in the raspberries.
  7. Pour the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when touched.
  9. Invert the pan to cool completely before removing the cake.

Notes

  • For a sweeter cake, you can increase the sugar slightly.
  • Serve with fresh whipped cream for an extra treat.
