A delicious twist on the classic chicken pot pie, featuring turkey bacon and a comforting, creamy filling.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, then stir in flour.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring until thickened.
  5. Add shredded chicken, mixed vegetables, cooked bacon, and seasonings. Stir well.
  6. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, top with pie crusts, and cut slits for steam.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat pie crusts.
  • Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
