Hot Fudge Cake: The Indulgent Treat You’ll Crave Forever

Hot Fudge Cake

An indulgent chocolate cake topped with rich hot fudge sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined. The batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Once cooled, spread the hot fudge sauce between the layers and on top of the cake.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, add whipped cream on top before serving.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance.
