A delightful casserole combining French onion flavors with chicken and orzo, topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound orzo pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded (Swiss or Gruyere)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook onions until caramelized.
  3. In a large bowl, combine orzo, chicken, turkey bacon, and caramelized onions.
  4. Add beef broth, cream, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and top with cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
