  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 175 grams brown sugar
  • 100 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 175 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Combine chopped dates and boiling water in a bowl; add baking soda and let it sit.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the date mixture and vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the flour until just combined.
