  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup blackberry puree

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  6. Fold in the blackberry puree gently.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before assembling.
